2024 will be our 47th year of hosting the event and we are always looking for students to complete our lineup. Our event is unique in that our teachers do not get paid by the organization, instead they volunteer their time and talent to make the event successful.
2024 Registration Fees:
DORM: Double Occupancy - $590.00 USD per person -$1,135.00 USD per couple - includes
food, dorm room (double occupancy) and administrative fee.
NOTE: Dorm rooms are double occupancy. There is an additional $90.00 USD charge for a single dorm room, single occupancy dorm rooms are very limited.
MOTEL OR OTHER: $470.00 USD per person - $885.00 USD per couple (includes food and
administrative fee.)
You are responsible for making your own Motel reservations.
What does my tuition include?
Your tuition for the Doane Experience includes an air-conditioned shared dorm room, all meals, beginning Saturday June 1st and through dinner on Thursday June 6th. In addition, classes are held in private air-conditioned class rooms. For anyone requesting, a private dorm is available for a small fee.
About the classes:
Our classes are intentionally kept small to allow a more personal learning experience for you. Smaller classes mean more time for you to learn and ask questions. Class fees are not included in the Doane Experience tuition. These class fees are to provide the learning materials for you in class. You will find that the fees are very modest.
Vendors:
Also we are proud to have Stadtlander Woodcarvings at Doane this year offering a wide array of Carving tools, supplies and Books. Also Loess Hills Sawmill will be onsite to provide you with all your wood needs.
In addition to the vendors, many instructors sell carving roughouts and tools.
Other Opportunities:
In the evenings we offer "Impromptu" classes. These classes give you an opportunity to try a new smaller carving project. There will be a sign up sheet located outside the cafeteria listing the opportunities.
Non-carving activities include hanging out with new friends in one of the Dorms lounge areas. The city of Crete also offers many great dining experiences, lounges, and even a movie theatre. Of course you can always simply take an evening stroll around the beautiful Doane University campus.
